What PMGSY Data Offers

PMGSY connects unconnected rural habitations (>250 population in plain areas, >100 in hilly/tribal areas) to all-weather roads. The OMMS (Online Management & Monitoring System) tracks:

Data Type Description
Habitation Status Connected / Unconnected status per habitation
Road Works Length, cost, contractor, completion status
Quality Monitoring NQM and SRRDA inspection reports
DPR Data Detailed Project Reports with road alignment
Expenditure State and central funds spent

How to Access

✏️ Practice Exercise

Exercise 4.4 — Unconnected Habitations in Your Block

Goal: Find all unconnected habitations in your block.

  1. Go to omms.nic.in → Reports → Habitation Status
  2. Select: State → District → Block
  3. Download Excel → Filter column "Connected Status" = "Unconnected"
  4. Count: How many habitations in your block still lack all-weather road access?

Questions: - [ ] What is the % of connected habitations in your block? - [ ] What is the population of the largest unconnected habitation? - [ ] Cross-reference with MGNREGA data — do these unconnected habitations have high MGNREGA employment? (Road construction is a common MGNREGA work)
