What PMGSY Data Offers¶
PMGSY connects unconnected rural habitations (>250 population in plain areas, >100 in hilly/tribal areas) to all-weather roads. The OMMS (Online Management & Monitoring System) tracks:
| Data Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Habitation Status | Connected / Unconnected status per habitation |
| Road Works | Length, cost, contractor, completion status |
| Quality Monitoring | NQM and SRRDA inspection reports |
| DPR Data | Detailed Project Reports with road alignment |
| Expenditure | State and central funds spent |

✏️ Practice Exercise¶
Exercise 4.4 — Unconnected Habitations in Your Block
Goal: Find all unconnected habitations in your block.
- Go to omms.nic.in → Reports → Habitation Status
- Select: State → District → Block
- Download Excel → Filter column "Connected Status" = "Unconnected"
- Count: How many habitations in your block still lack all-weather road access?
Questions: - [ ] What is the % of connected habitations in your block? - [ ] What is the population of the largest unconnected habitation? - [ ] Cross-reference with MGNREGA data — do these unconnected habitations have high MGNREGA employment? (Road construction is a common MGNREGA work)
